everyday is the...

you know it's a good day when you can go to sleep at night thinking, "wow - what a brilliantly nonsensical day!"

it started with a trip to our local soup paradise - best soup in the galaxy i'd venture to guess.

we geared up our two dogs and baby (all the essentials to feeling like a walking circus) and headed downtown. some guy walked past us, looked me right in the eye and said, "mammels!" and that's why i love people, because what in the??

we ordered our nirvana in a bowl and ate outside, tying the pups up to our table per the usual. problem is, when the table weighs about 2 pounds and one of your dogs weighs 110 pounds and another dog walks by that your dog is really interested in getting to know better, chaos is bound to strike. and strike it did.

i'm really surprised and sad i couldn't find a picture or a video of a dog dragging a table, because i think this would be a great place to put such a thing, but i did find a video of a dog dragging HIMSELF across the ground, which is kind-of funny, albeit irrelevant:

anyway, teddy dragged that table with all his might knocking everything off. our glorious soup flew across the sidewalk in slow motion, followed by shattering dishes. the only things that didn't move were me and the boy. we sat frozen in our little chairs, laps now exposed with no table to hide behind. we were THOSE GUYS!!

we came home covered in dried soup to find the world's biggest box on our front porch. sweet! look how big it is compared to the boy's snow boot:

it was, of course, addressed to quincy. the boy and i don't get any packages these days - they're all for our seven week old daughter. what gives? we opened it with great fervor (she gave us the go-ahead. don't worry, we would never open other people's mail without permission). inside was a baby blanket. yes, a blanket. well, to be more specific, a blanket with a head. but still a blanket. see it compared to the boy's snow boot:

sooo...... that's a lot of box for a blanket with a head on it. but i do kinda wish we had opened the huge box before going out to lunch because then we would've had a blanket to clean up with and i wouldn't have walked around all day with dried soup on my shirt.
